Conscious Or Unconscious

Achievements are borne out of consciousness and being deliberate. Consciousness that something is missing, not right or should be redesigned . I will try to make you understand why we must be conscious of our consciousness and why we must plan it at the same time. Consciousness you will agree with me is to be at alert and when you are at alert, you are able to identify areas to be improved upon. Remember, “woe unto them who are at ease in Zion”

Consciousness is about what you have immersed yourself in, what you have sold or exposed your heart and soul to. Imagine this, if you soak your piece of bread in a cocoa mixture, when you bring it out, it drips of same thing you soaked it in , “cocoa mixture”
It is so intense and deep to comprehend but when you become aware how much your consciousness and being awake to what you feed your heart and mind can affect your entire being and output even unconsciously, each and every individual will make a firm commitment and deliberate act to be what and who you are called to be. SEEK OUT OPPORTUNITY- PROBING THE STATUS QUO

Never has gold been found on the surface, never has oil been scooped from the river, never!

Everything in life has got laws and processes governing it, including seeking to find.Everyday, I think about becoming better and I know for sure that the only way it will work for me is by putting some action to the thought and that starts from seeking and knowing what is required and applying them on time.

Back to the process of finding gold. I once saw a documentary on TV involving two(2) European men who came down to Africa in search of gold, of course to make money. They got people back home to invest in their quest. Down in Africa – Ghana , they were taken to the area where gold is mined to pay for space so as to begin their escapade. After acquiring their space, they hired the machine they needed to excavate and crush the materials lifted from the earth so as to make it easier for them to extract gold, if any. They paid for all these services plus a navigator but they did not get result.
Guess what, despite all the disappointments they did not pack up to leave the dream they left their comfort zone to pursue down in Africa. They kept on.
It is in the keeping on and in the endurance in your seeking that your opportunity show up. Better put, your opportunities are hidden in the actions and applications of your seeking galore.

Define Your Path And Part – Probing The Status Quo.

When you discover your path, then your part is inevitable for true accomplishment and completion. Your path defines your destiny, journey, purpose, goal and aim while your part defines the methodology plus the how through which your path is made good by your participation.
The dictionary defines path as a plan of action or way of achieving something. It could also be said to be the road that leads to your chosen endeavour. It is one thing to have plan of action and another to carry out the action, this is where your”part” comes to play. Your part is the actual role you need to play to ensure you go through the path without regrets and with little or no mistakes. Read More

Progressive Discipline- Probing the status quo contd.

Discipline is best described as a training to act in accordance with certain rules. It is also an activity that develops or improves a skill, it means to follow a particular code or conduct. Progressive means to proceed, step by step.
Discipline is work in progress and as such cannot be attained in a day or accomplished once and for all and so, Progressive discipline can be termed as the act of following a particular code or conduct to promote change step by step.
Every new day comes with a new temptation, challenge and desires as well as a sort of new attempt or trial on your emotional intelligence. We must always arm ourselves with our goals which is our yard stick to enable us measure our output and progress. Read More

Deal With Your Fears- Probing The Status Quo Contd.

It is ok to have fear in you but it is not ok to allow that fear keep you down or dictate how your future or dreams play out. For every set back in life or endeavours, there is an act of fear assuming or taking responsibility. This means that we have in one way or the other given over the responsibility of our lives to fear rather than take control or responsibility.
I have a question, if you find yourself drowning in a river(God forbid), are you going to allow yourself just go without trying to save your soul? I am really sure you are going to put up a fight, that is the way to deal with fears. You don’t just run back, you face it.
Do you know what fear does? It makes us live a life of gamble and mediocre, if we do not deal with it.  This is because rather than go on that road that would lead us to the proper assignment, we tend to cut corners out of fear and eventually fall out of the line of destiny. When we live in fear, we trouble shoot with our future all because we are not ready or prepared to face the real problem. Read More

Probing The Status Quo

To ascertain the state of something or a project, there must be a probing and we must understand that our lives are some how a project or should be seen as such and followed up on to get the desired result.
Sometime ago, I realised I was really tired with somethings about my life. It was the status quo of my attainments and achievements all round. There was this nausea about how things have played out in my life so far.
I decided to remind myself constantly of the fact that I was fed up so I can swing into action on the way forward. I went pictorial by making in bold prints these words “Tired Of The Status Quo”. I had one on my desk at work, one in my room at home and one in my car. Read More

CHOICES

Many a times in life, we are faced with a whole lot of options and the difficulty of making a choice. I refer to it as a difficulty because I know that today’s choices can make or mar one’s future.
I would define choices as your preferences and decisions that affect your output. In fact, it is what you have given in to. Read More

ADDING THE BLOCKS

Whether male or female, everyone has got his or her part to play. Girl or boy, we must accomplish. One thing gives me absolute confidence and conviction, that it does not matter what sex you are, and that is the proven fact that God has never and will never make a mistake. Not in my time nor in the time to come. So why bother?
For every person created by God, there is a special mission drafted by him in the form of destiny and that is the reason he said in the holy book ” I knew you even before your mother conceived you even while you were in your mother’s womb.
Hello! Did you hear God?
If you are going to permit your fellow human being determine how far you’ll go or what you are gonna become, then your are heading straight to an already made failure. Let me break it down, the woman’s got the eggs and the womb and the man’s got the sperm. Tell me, can we swap the roles? I am pretty sure it is an absolute negative.
For every standing building in the world, there are different inputs that brought about the final job, every input counts and is peculiar to its typical function.
It is like a team, every one with their special skills and inputs but complimenting each others abilities to achieve a common goal.
I love the human body, it explains better what am talking about. We’ve got the brain, eyes, nose, legs, tongue, teeth, heart, lungs, kidney and so on. With each part playing a unique role and none taking the sole glory nor claiming superiority. If any part can stand alone, I would suggest that we store up some blood in a bottle and have it get on the pitch and play me some soccer like Lionel Messi would do.
Come on, God ain’t stupid, he created man and woman to compliment each other. One piece of advice, concentrate on destiny rather than arouse discord amongst gender, it amounts to no success.
Every block in a building stands on the other, imagine a gap before the next set. It will surely take a miracle solely made in heaven for the building process to continue.
Remember world trade centre and how it came crumbling down, all because some part of it has been distorted by unwanted forces.
The philosophy we are selling in several parts of the world is a distortion to the flow of knowledge, understanding and self esteem and can crumble growth and Unity amongst people, home, community, marriages, religion, sex etc.
Set your own block, put it in place and remember, God cannot make a mistake but we act like he did.
What block are you adding? Let your action and response hence forth on male and female superiority and preference determine.

Dare to dream despite your sex and against all odds.

If I Were A Boy

I’ve got responses that my blog is feminine, yes because i am female but those responses has taken me to a position where i have started to think as well as ask myself this question, if I where a boy what is it that I will do for my female counterpart to rid the environment of unnecessary acts, attitudes and exhibitions against them.
I’ll like to tell a story especially on personal experiences that the society unknowingly or should I say by default show forth, some sort of subtle cruelty against women.
It was the last Saturday in February and my estate(the community where I reside)were having their monthly meeting to discuss on ways to make our community better, I wasn’t there because it is usually a men’s affair and you will find one or two women in their midst. I am sure most people will look at the women who join the estate meeting as practically irresponsible as we are usually expected to take care of the home front on such days. However, the venue of the meeting is the entrance gate to my estate and my house happens to be the first house right by the estate gate and so every move and discussion, I happen to see and hear unsolicited.
A lady and a resident in my estate had come to lay a complaint to the officials of the residence association that morning concerning a security personnel who accosted and insulted her on her way back home within the week and in self defence she had slapped him. With keen interest I listened attentively to see how wisely he was gonna deal with the situation. Guess what? He started by making this statement “how can a woman of all people slap a security personnel, a woman what an insult”. The woman Missed it no doubt but his( the president of the association) response was definitely uncalled for, it was derogatory to woman hood as minute and minor as you may think that statement is. When expanded or should I say, if you listen to the unsaid words you can hear him saying I don’t care what the security personnel did but so far a woman is involved, then the woman is wrong from all angles and must be blamed. Excuse me!
There are so many more instances down here in Nigeria  where women are attributed to so many negative things like the following:
If it is a poor driving, then it must be a female driver.
If a female banker, then she is wayward.
The bad boss must be female boss, excuse me!
If no kids in a marriage, must be the woman’s fault.
Men are not taking care of their families(extended),the woman is behind it.
Oh! A man’s business ain’t working, she must have bewitched him.
Your kids are not on the right track, her fault.
From all these, I think she, being the neck of the home, must be carrying too much and if I where a boy, I would like to make the burden a little lighter as much as I could by loving her a little bit more and maybe taking responsibility where it is mine reminding myself always of the obvious fact that the neck carries the head and if the neck be burdened to it’s breakage, the head is definitely going down with it.
Remember, every boy has got a woman in his life be it mother, sister, Aunty, niece, wife and every other woman you meet in or out of your way means same to someone. Those who live in a glass house don’t throw stones and in this case, we all live in one.

Don’t get me wrong, I love them both male or female and I have them both and we all do. A little more love ain’t gonna hurt. Christ showed us some love extraordinaire, we can too.

Dare to dream and love against all odds,

Man In The Mirror

This is about me and may be about you, somewhat.
Years ago I can categorically tell you I was one soul totally taken over by anger, so many things about my life especially relationships were jeopardised both at work and at home, in fact it was me against the world.
A day came and I took a decision to tell my self the truth just like Socrates advised and to give myself a chance( like John c. Maxwell admonished) for a change and improvement.

This is a story to prove I have truly given myself a chance because I told myself the truth and I know all of us can.
I recently got myself a help after several months of performing house chores, caring for my four(4) children, coping with my tedious bank job and most of all performing my ultimate domestic obligation all alone except for the days my lovely husband would make breakfast for the kids because they (the kids) would prefer the kind of breakfast he makes available to them. In high spirit and expectation Chinyere (my new help) arrived my home though not educated and enlightened as I may want her, I judged and appraised her based on my own level of education, exposure and understanding even though from all ramifications it is not tenable except by training but this I did not do from onset.
There was hardly a chore Chinyere would perform without flaws and so for every instruction I leave her with, I expected her not to do it right and so was ready with my tongue lashing. I started to feel it was a calculated move by her to make me unhappy in my home. I decided to change my strategy by always putting it in the front burner the fact that I must get value for my money, her salary and yet no change came. All the blame went to her and I never saw any reason to look inwards.
There should always be a time for soul searching, a time for appraisal, that I finally tested and it paid off almost immediately. I went back to ask myself why nothing is working out and I also remember one of my bosses telling me that it’s only a mad man that will keep repeating a strategy and expect a different result, I needed to apply something different and that strategy was “reflective thinking” as stipulated by John c . Maxwell in his book “thinking for a change”
It hit me that I have not fulfilled my part of the contract but expected the other party to do hers, what a shame and where is the place of empathy?

After my soul search, I  called Chinyere in and we had a fruitful discussion and training. I communicated her importance and essence in my  home, to me and my children and she demanded to know how. I continued by telling her she is a critical part of my life and that my job won’t be smooth if I don’t have her at home to take off me some of the responsibilities she takes care of, such as receiving my children when they get back from school in the afternoon. She grinned and I knew from that look she felt good and important and wanted to live up to expectation. Since then, she has continued to improve as the days  go by and I have not failed to acknowledge when she does things right but reprove her in love when necessary. Now she knows she is part of my family and life and she treats me as one( though not always) but I do my part by always looking out for the sweet part of her rather than setting out for the faults.

In essence, let’s stop passing the blame, looking inwards may just be the solution, play your part first, empathise, show some love,a little pat on the back ain’t gonna hurt no body, be a little kinder and the expected result we will get.
Dare to be a better person, dare to dream against all odds.
